How Hot? (Part Two).....You'll Never Guess What's In My Birdbath

Yesterday I told you about the hawks that were cooling off in the sprinklers in the front yard during this oppressive heatwave. Well, it did cool off a bit.....down to 100 degrees from yesterday's record setter of 103. And my feathered friends still needed some refreshment; cardinals, robins, nuthatches, please vacate the birdbath- there's a carnivore coming.

Here's some pictures taken from my kitchen window. He/she was really magnificent.

I'm no ornithologist, but after consulting my Audubon Handbook of Eastern Birds I'm pretty sure this guy is a Northern Harrier.....but if anyone knows different please let me know.
