Chris Christie on MORNING JOE

Republican Candidate for New Jersey governor Chris Christie appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe with co-hosts Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, sidekick Willie Geist, and guest Jim Cramer.

Mr. Christie was on for 7:34 minutes. During that time Christie's (and Joe's) weight was discussed, as were Jon Corzine's ads, what happened to Christie's substantial lead in the polls, Christie's record as a federal prosecutor, and Chrisitie's less than stellar evaluation of Governor Jon Corzine's record.

But what was NOT discussed was of most interest. Christie never talked about what specifically he would do to close an estimated $8 billion budget gap for the upcoming fiscal year. New Jersey's constitution mandates the governor- and the state legislature- must balance the budget.

Neither Joe, nor Mika, nor Willie, nor Jim asked Chris Christie just how he intends to do the balancing act, and what he would do to bring economic stability to the Garden State.

See the video, and judge for yourselves. Frankly, I saw a lot of softballs.

I really don't have a clue whats gonna become of our crumbling state. Neither rethug or dem has any answers at this point! Isn't it pathetic!

My biggest gripe about this appearance was nobody asked Christie the $8 Billion Dollar Question....how do you cut people's taxes (like he keeps promising he will do) and close that budget gap?

I like Joe and Mika, but it was more like a Sunday brunch than an interview. The Daggett campaign claims to do it Christie's way to balance the budget he'd have to fire each and every state employee...twice.

To me, its looks like Christie, Mark II (Mark I being Christie Whitman)....don't tax, borrow, get re-elected and leave it for the next guy to figure out.
