Rutgers Beats Maryland 34-13 With Tough D, Big Second Half

Rutgers Running Back Joe Martinek

After trailing at the half 13-10, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights stormed back to beat Maryland 34-10, scoring 24 unanswered second half points. RU scored two defensive touchdowns in a game for the first time in the Greg Schiano Era, and their stout defense produced five Maryland turnovers. Joe Martinek had two long TD runs for RU to seal the deal in the fourth quarter.

I'll be back with more game analysis tomorrow in my regular 12 Hours Later feature, plus some comments about other activity in the Big East, including the big upset of Florida State by South Florida, and I'll talk about some other national games as well.

I've got more football to watch...see you again in the AM!
