Happy Cinco de Mayo (featuring TicTac, the Singing Chihuahua)

Wishing one and all a Happy Cinco de Mayo!

On this date in 1862 the Mexican Army under Brigadier General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin defeated the invading French forces in the Battle of Puebla. Contrary to popular belief here in the United States, today is NOT Mexican independence day. In fact, the only thing the Battle of Puebla was able to do was to delay the advance of the French to Mexico City, which they conquered and installed an Austrian duke on the created throne of Mexico as Emperor Maximilian I. Maximilian remained in power until overthrown by the forces of Benito Juarez in 1867.

Actually Mexican Independence Day is September 16. Cinco de Mayo is really a celebration of Mexican culture, kind of like St. Patrick's Day.

Its also a great excuse to sneak out and buy an extra case of CORONA.

So here to help celebrate Cinco de Mayo is TicTac, the Singing Chihuahua, with his rendition of Who are You?

Too bad he can't swing a mike like Roger Daltry.
